Биметаллический термостат, который поддерживает температуру сушки: включает и выключает нагрев (ТЭН или газовую горелку), когда выходящий воздух нагрелся до нормы. Стоит на корпусе вентилятора (blower housing) или выходном воздуховоде, по воздуху — после барабана.
- Whirlpool / Kenmore / Maytag 29" — сзади, на корпусе вентилятора слева, рядом с термопредохранителем. Часто у него 4 клеммы: две большие (контакт, провода обычно красные) и две маленькие — встроенный подогреватель (bias heater), который «обманывает» термостат на режимах Medium/Low, чтобы он отключал нагрев раньше.
- Электронные машины (Whirlpool Duet, Samsung, LG, новые GE) — рабочего термостата нет: температуру меряет термистор (thermistor), а нагрев включает плата.
- Старые GE, Frigidaire — рабочий термостат на выходном воздуховоде у вентилятора.
A bimetal thermostat that regulates drying temperature: it switches the heat (element or gas burner) off and on when the exhaust air reaches temperature. It sits on the blower housing or the exhaust duct, downstream of the drum.
- Whirlpool / Kenmore / Maytag 29" — at the back, on the blower housing on the left, next to the thermal fuse. It often has 4 terminals: two large (the contact, usually red wires) and two small — a built-in bias heater that "fools" the thermostat on Medium/Low settings so it shuts the heat off sooner.
- Electronic machines (Whirlpool Duet, Samsung, LG, newer GE) — no cycling thermostat: a thermistor measures temperature and the board switches the heat.
- Older GE, Frigidaire — the cycling thermostat is on the exhaust duct near the blower.
Признаки поломкиSymptoms when it fails

Мультиметр: прозвонка для контакта, Ω (предел 20 кΩ) для подогревателя.
Multimeter: continuity for the contact, Ω (20 kΩ range) for the bias heater.
- ✅ НормаNormal
Большие клеммы: прозвонка ~0 Ω при комнатной. Подогреватель: примерно 5 000–10 000 Ω (типично для Whirlpool 29", сверить с tech sheet).
Large terminals: continuity ~0 Ω at room temperature. Bias heater: roughly 5,000–10,000 Ω (typical for Whirlpool 29", verify with the tech sheet).
- ❌ НеисправнаFaulty
Большие клеммы OL на холодном — менять. Подогреватель OL или сильно вне диапазона — менять. Не размыкается при нагреве — менять.
Large terminals OL when cold — replace. Bias heater OL or far out of range — replace. Does not open when heated — replace.
Обесточь, дай остыть. Сними заднюю панель (Whirlpool 29").
Unplug, let it cool. Remove the back panel (Whirlpool 29").
Сними один из больших (красных) проводов и прозвони пару больших клемм.
Pull one of the large (red) wires and check continuity across the large terminal pair.
Если есть маленькие клеммы — сними один маленький (часто фиолетовый) провод и измерь сопротивление подогревателя.
If there are small terminals — pull one small (often purple) wire and measure the bias heater resistance.
Дополнительно: нагрей термостат феном — контакт должен разомкнуться, а после остывания снова замкнуться.
Optional: heat the thermostat with a hair dryer — the contact should open, then close again after it cools.
🔧 ЗаменаReplacement
Два винта и 2–4 провода. Перед снятием сфотографируй, какой провод куда. Новый термостат — с тем же номером и тем же числом клемм. Обязательно прочисти вентиляцию: перегрев от забитой трубы «убивает» и этот термостат.
Two screws and 2–4 wires. Photograph the wiring before removal. The new thermostat must have the same part number and terminal count. Always clean the venting: overheating from a clogged duct wears this thermostat too.

- Если сгорел термопредохранитель, а вентиляция чистая — первым подозревай рабочий термостат, залипший в замкнутом состоянии.If the thermal fuse blew and the venting is clean, first suspect a cycling thermostat stuck closed.
- Холодная прозвонка не показывает, при какой температуре термостат открывается. Точно проверяется только измерением температуры выхлопа в работе (сверить с tech sheet).A cold continuity test does not show the opening temperature. Only measuring exhaust temperature while running confirms it (compare with the tech sheet).
