Use this guide to replace the door boot seal on a Kenmore front-load washer. This part is also called the door gasket, boot, or bellow. Replace it if it is torn, leaking, or heavily mildewed. This procedure applies to Electrolux-built Kenmore front-load washers and is similar on Frigidaire Gallery and Affinity models, though screw locations may vary. Match the replacement bellow to the washer model number before ordering.

8
Align the new bellow

Seat the inner edge on the tub
- Roll the inner edge of the gasket back with your fingers.
- Push the rolled edge over the lip on the plastic outer tub.

Start the inner spring clamp

- Use a clip at the top of the tub, if available, to keep the spring from pulling the clamp down.

- Hold the clamp with one thumb while using your other hand to stretch the spring.
11
Finish the inner spring clamp
- Continue stretching the spring and pressing the clamp into the groove around the tub.
- Use a flathead screwdriver carefully for leverage on the last section of the spring.
- Confirm the clamp sits in the groove all the way around the tub.

Seat the outer edge on the front panel

- Confirm the wire clamp sits evenly in the outer groove.
16
Reassemble the washer
- Reinstall the lower panel and the screw on each underside corner.
- Feed the control-panel wires through the frame and reconnect the wire connectors.
- Snap the control panel onto the metal frame and reinstall the screws behind the dispenser and along the top.
- Reinstall the top panel and the screws at the back.
- Open the water valves, plug in the washer, and run a short cycle while watching the new bellow for leaks.
