Disconnect power and gather supplies

Unplug the washing machine before starting any cleaning or maintenance.
Prepare a mild chlorine-based cleaner, an acid-based cleaner, citric acid, dishwasher tablets, a soft brush, a sponge, and a cloth.
Keep a container or small bowl handy to catch residual water from the filters.

Clean the detergent drawer

For cleaning you will need: bleaching and stain remover agent, acid-based cleaner, brushes, container to catch water from filter, sponge, coin/key, two washing machine tablets, citric acid
Pull out the detergent drawer fully and remove any detachable parts, especially the softener compartment.
Soak and scrub the drawer to remove residues, ensuring the siphon area for the softener is not clogged.
Clean the interior slot where the drawer slides in using a brush or cloth to remove buildup.
Confirm all parts are clear of debris before setting the drawer aside to dry or placing it in a dishwasher for a thorough clean.

Clean the rubber seal

Check for objects like coins or small items trapped around or under the seal.
Apply a chlorine-based cleaner to areas with visible mold or residue, focusing on all folds and edges.
Wipe thoroughly with a cloth or sponge and let the cleaner sit briefly to remove stubborn buildup.
Remember that a hot cycle with citric acid will neutralize any remaining chlorine later.

Clean the glass door

Use an acid-based cleaner or mild solution to wipe away lint and residues from the door glass.
Wipe it dry to ensure clarity and prevent streaks.

Drain and clean the pump filter

Locate the small drain hose or release valve near the filter cover where water can be emptied before filter removal.
Drain residual water into a container or bowl to prevent spills.
Open the filter cover using a coin or small tool, then remove and inspect the filter for debris.
Use a brush or cloth to clean the filter thoroughly and check for trapped items.
Reinstall the filter securely to avoid leaks during operation.

Clean the inlet filter

Turn off the water supply and disconnect the fill hose from the back of the machine.
Locate and remove the small mesh inlet filter to clear sediment and debris.
Rinse or gently brush the filter, then reinsert it and reconnect the hose firmly.
Ensure no leaks by tightening the connection properly.

Run a maintenance cycle

Place an old cloth inside the drum to assist with scrubbing during the wash.
Add around 100 grams of citric acid plus two dishwasher tablets directly into the drum or detergent compartment.
Select a high-temperature cycle (up to 95°C) with a high water level setting if available.
Allow the machine to complete this cycle to dissolve any leftover cleaner and rinse the entire system.
